kate's japanese vocabulary list



kawaii = cute (or nice/sweet, too...)

atashi mou = me (fem.) too

yokatta = i'm glad/ thank goodness

kyaa = wow!/ah! (response to seeing some1 cute, some

kakkoii = cool/cute!

uso = it's not true (in this case = just kidding. =P)

dayo = like des, it means "it is"

shittemas = i know

hounto = really

ano = umm...

chigao = that's not it/ it's not true

daijoubu = it'll be ok/i'm alright/it's ok

kitto = certainly

ja = well/so

oyasumi = good night (short 4 oyasuminasai)

ja ne = see u later/bye

yaparri = of course/it's expected/just as i thought

iie = no

chotto = wait

doki doki = when ur heart beats fast cuz of something romantic happens/cuz of some1 u like

doumo = thanks/hi

kyo wa = today/ today is

jitsuwa = actually

dakara = so, therefore, that's why

ii dateh = it's ok/it's alright

boku mou = me (masc.) too.

nikujaga = a homecooked winter dish. a meat/potatos kinda soup....

itadakimas = something japanese ppl say be4 they eat...literally "i receive", it's a way of thanking the the animal/plant for giving up its life so that u can have something to eat...i think it all started as part of the shinto religion, but now pretty much every1 says it be4 eating, kinda like "i'm eating now", or "let's eat".

(sorry, sometimes i forget certain words or they're out of order, or they are not in the story at all. lol. after many edits, sometimes that happens!! if u don't understand what a certain word means cuz i forgot to list it here, please tell me!! xD )

ore da = it's me [if a guy says it, cuz ore = me (masculine version)]

yabun = late/ it's late

sumimasen = excuse me/sorry

sou = that's right/yes

yappari = of course/i thought so

ore wa itai = i want to see you (can also mean 'i missed you'? and yes! i got this line from majosai. hehe. LOVED when he said it, looking seriously, at her...ahhh!!)
